This winter, a tree fell and did significant damage to Cascade Deck. We quickly determined that repairing the buildings was not a smart option. These buildings are among the oldest at Tadmor, already needed up to $100k of maintenance, and they were never designed to be used in a year-round capacity. For this reason, we’re taking this trial and turning it into an opportunity for improvement! We plan to use insurance money, our Tadmor Improvements Fund, and additional fundraising to start over.
The new design for Cascade Deck will better serve our groups all year round and allow us to put our maintenance efforts in other places. This area of camp is well overdue for updates. The new structures will have more bathroom and laundry facilities, as well as covered meeting spaces. Included in the new design are 2 hotel-like rooms that will be ADA friendly. These improvements will open more doors for use throughout the year and revenue in the future. We see improvements to our facilities as a part of stewarding the ministry of Tadmor, a gift from God to our churches, one that started in large part because of Roundup.
We are asking you as Roundup to come together once again and continue what previous generations began here at Tadmor. Please partner with us in creating a place set aside for people to come, grow together and leave transformed. You can join in making sure that Tadmor is around to serve for another 55 years.
At this point we are still working with designers and engineers so we do not have the total number needed for finishing the project, but we are estimating that we will need to raise an additional $150,000 to $250,000. We will have a good idea of what the exact number is as we get closer to Roundup.
